At the beginning of the month I enjoy several early visits to the hide, photographing  Long Tailed Tit, Mistle Thrush, and Red Kite. The regular woodland birds are still continue to be frequent visitors the feeders.  There is a noticeable increase in the numbers of Brown Hares seen on the way to the site, 47 being the most in one field.

The feeding behaviour of both the male & female Great Spotted Woodpecker has changed they now take the peanuts from the feeders and wedge them into empty holes in the logs before eating them, repeating this continuously during all of my visits. While watching this, listening to the Chiffchaff and Willow Warblers singing I was excited to see a Treecreeper appear, another new record for the area.
